C&C Constructions Ltd to remodel a Delhi road
Delhiites will soon be able to witness a high-capacity bus system road between Delhi Gate and Ambedkar Nagar to enable high-capacity buses to ply comfortably. This road will be constructed by C & C Constructions Limited (C&C), which has been engaged by the Delhi Government to construct this stretch of 15 kms. The uniqueness of this project will be the remodeling of the road to segregate vehicles like rickshaws, bicycles, two-wheelers and cars to enable better movement of traffic. The foundation stone for the project was laid on October 4, 2006.
The Company is engaged in construction of highways and airport runway projects and has now ventured into Urban Infrastructure, said Mr. G.S. Johar, Chairman, C & C Constructions, It is a matter of pride that this contract was awarded to us. At the same time we are confident of our expertise and experience to execute road projects. We have handled road projects in various states in India and overseas in Afghanistan.
The project with a cost of approximately Rs.129 crores is slated to be completed within a time frame of 15 months. Bus bays and bus shelters are proposed to be at the centre of the road near almost all the major junctions. This system is very pedestrian friendly and will increase the carrying capacity of the corridor and would be integral with other modes of transport, Mr. Johar added.
C & C will undertake this project through a 50:50 JV with B. Seeniah & Co. (Projects), Hyderabad (BSC).

Delhi-based DS Constructions Ltd, one of the leading infrastructure developers in the country, has bagged the Rs 190-crore Raipur-Aurang road project, which is part of the National Highway No 6 and falls in Chhattisgarh.

New Delhi - After the Supreme Court, it was the turn of the Delhi High Court Friday to rubbish the Delhi law allowing one-year moratorium on demolition and de-sealing of unauthorised constructions in the capital.
Unauthorised constructions are going on in full swing in the capital after the passage of the so-called Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Act 2006, a division bench comprising judges Vijender Jain and Rekha Sharma observed.
The bench said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) could not de-seal unauthorised constructions under the garb of the new law.
