Delhi Airport Master Plan reaches Min, AAI
GMR Infrastructure has said that Delhi International Airport (P) Limited (DIAL), a public private partnership initiative mandated to operate, manage and develop the Delhi Airport, has submitted its master plan to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and to Airports Authority of India.
This master plan includes DIALs detailed proposal to modernize the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi into a world airport.
DIAL envisions the construction of a new integrated passenger terminal to cater to both domestic and international traffic. This terminal will be ready before the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
In its first phase, the new terminal would be capable of handling more than 35 million passengers per annum (mppa). Prior to that, a new runway with A 380 compatibility would be completed by March 2008 to complement the existing two runways.
The master plan was designed in consultation with Mott McDonald, a leading management, engineering and development consultancy and HOK, world renowned airport architects, based in UK.

NEW DELHI: Former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vjay Goel on Wednesday demanded immediate notification of the Master Plan for Delhi-2021 with a clear policy on commercialisation and building by-law norms to provide relief to small traders and shopkeepers.
