Chennai-Delhi Garib Rath next month

More Garib Rath trains - fully air-conditioned trains meant for the poor - linking New Delhi to state capitals would be introduced soon, Railways Minister Lalu Prasad said here today.

We will operate these trains from all state capitals to Delhi, Lalu said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the dedicated western freight corridor.

Next month, Garib Rath trains Between Mumbai-Delhi and Chennai-Delhi would be introduced, he said.

Thanking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for supporting his work to bring about a turnaround of Railways, Lalu said the UPA government at the Centre would complete its five-year term.

Chennai project: DLF to refund buyers from April

Indias largest developer by market value, DLF Ltd, has written to buyers in a housing project near Chennai that it will return booking amounts in full to all customers who want to exit the under-development project. A letter from the company, reviewed by Mint, said the refunds would be made between 1 April and 30 September. Customers will be paid refunds based on the order of exit letters received by DLF, the company said in the letter dated 28 March to buyers. DLF also said that buyers interested in exiting the project can collect documents related to the refund on 1 April

DLF begins refunds to some buyers of Chennai property

Indias largest real estate developer by market value, DLF Ltd, has started issuing refund cheques to buyers who bought apartments in an under-construction project in Chennai when prices were significantly higher than today. DLF has reduced sticker prices on the Chennai development, as also at projects in Hyderabad and Bangalore, but customers who booked apartments in Garden City on Old Mahabalipuram Road, on the outskirts of Chennai, are demanding that the developer cut prices by at least 25%. SpiceJet’s Delhi-Chennai night flight soon

Expanding into an area where no other budget carrier has launched operations so far, SpiceJet on Tuesday announced its second night flight between Delhi and Chennai via Hyderabad from December 4. The decision to launch this night flight comes after the "success story" of its first night flight on the Delhi- Ahmedabad-Mumbai, which was started for three days a week and then increased to a daily service due to the "heavy demand", a SpiceJet spokesperson said. The Delhi-Hyderabad-Chennai flight would operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while the service on the return sector would operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Hiranandani co buys land worth Rs 800 cr

Hiranandani Upscale, a fully-owned company of Mumbai-based developer Hiranandani Group, is learnt to have bought 135 acres in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad for Rs 800 crore. According to a person involved in the transaction, the agreement had been signed last month between Hiranandani Upscale and three individual sellers in these cities. The three land parcels comprise 80 acres in Bangalore, 35 acres in Chennai and 20 acres in Hyderabad, said the person. Hiranandani Upscale plans to develop townships in these cities at a later date.
